Way back in 1998, the reissue of this release was much delayed because our CD pressing plant heard some uncleared Pink Floyd samples and refused to press it, which prompted Negativland to take on the Recording Industry Association Of America (search the inter-tubes for the whole sordid saga). The new guidelines that were eventually issued by the RIAA did not come soon enough for this release for us to know if they really helped or not, but for this CD, after being turned down by four other pressing plants, we managed to find a plant that was small enough that they weren’t paying attention to what they were actually pressing. We got lucky.

So what was the fuss all about? Well, come out of your closet with The Weatherman and The Clorox Cowboy and find out, as Negativland tackles the subject of gay repression as only The Weatherman could. THE WEATHERMAN'S DUMB STUPID COME OUT-LINE, once available in cassette format only (and formerly titled simply "The Weatherman"), is re-released as a double CD on Seeland Records. Extra CD time would have allowed us to add extra material, but after much debate and consideration we have decided we like this one just the way it is. It does include a new special folded insert and a brand new and very detailed 24-page Weatherman Dictionary that will help you learn the true meanings of all those strange words he’s been saying for all these years....and maybe you will finally learn the meaning of the words "Seat Bee Sate"!
